Before I left a number of people asked about a mailing address.
Here it is:
P.O. Box 310216
Chelstone, Lusaka   Zambia
Letters take about a month or a little more and packages another month longer.

I also sent out my first email newsletter.  My non-computer savvy self figured out how to add a button you can click to add your email to my newsletter list.  I could not figure out how to add a link directly to the newsletter.  I can add you or anyone else to the email list for newsletters or send a real piece of paper to your house!  Just let me know.

Just back from the retreat of the missionaries in southern Africa.  It was wonderful to meet them all.  They have so many talents in different areas and so much experience to share, not to mention their love and passion for reaching the lost and hurting.  It was refreshing to worship with them.  Good times of fellowship included times at Victoria Falls and area attractions.  I'll share a few pictures of God's amazing creation.

He is so creative with so many different unique animals and plants.  They work together in so many fascinating ways.  If He cares that much for each of them, how much more does He care for each one of us?!

I am feeling more settled in now.  Everything is put away. I went grocery shopping for the first time and now have my own internet modem so can keep in touch better.  Tomorrow we are off to Livingstone and Victoria Falls with a short jaunt to Botswana.  I am excited to meet all the Africa missionaries and learn what they do and how I can connect and fit in.

Enjoyed my brief visit to London.  Saw quite a few sights in just a few hours.

Hit the ground running in Zambia and saw my first patient with Christine Little by 3 hours in country.  I will be Christine's shadow while finding my way around here.  She is a nurse practioner and has great connections here already with wonderful ministry going on.  This picture is of a wonderful mom who had this little boy at 28 weeks and was discharged from the hospital in 2 days!  He more then doubled his weight in his first month and is looking very healthy and happy.  They are a wonderful family that works closely with the ministry here.  Two years ago I was able to join a trip Redson, his father, was on building a church.
Looking forward to sharing more!

I am now safely in Zambia.  Highly suggest British Air.  Wonderful trip with no problems.  Luggage all intact including my good viola! Saw great sights in London on the way.  I'll post pics later when I have the time.  No problems coming in at the airport getting my visa etc.  Many prayers answered.  Off to a visit to see a baby in a few minutes.  I'll tell you all more when I have more time.

Today I fly off to my adventure.  Had a wonderful week with my parents and catching up with a few Wisconsin friends.  Thankful for Brad bringing my extra luggage from Michigan and seeing where I grew up and meeting all the wonderful people at Poplar Creek Church.  Had so many meaningful prayers said over me Sunday.  Butterflies in the stomach, Zambia here I come!

YAY!  Financial clearance and visa clearance!  Off to deposit the money for my plane tickets.

Yesterday's sermon was very appropriate.  The giant inside us...stepping out and making the difference God has called us to do.  The example this week was Noah.  Not giving up even when no one has ever heard of rain, and it takes 120 years to finish the task God asks you to do.

Then Drs. Boyd, Carlson, and Knefelkamp planned a doc going away party.  Good time of fellowship and finishing.  Also enjoyed lunch with the Mcnees and Brad.  Next time will be glow in the dark settlers:)

Tonight had a lovely good bye party from all the worship team at First Assembly.  So many kind things said.  Prayer time was meaningful.  Pastor Jeremy prayed my steps would be ordered of God...because the steps of a good man are ordered by God.  Took me right back to college. "Rejoice for the steps of a righteous man, they are ordered of God"  One of my and my roomie's favorite songs.  Still the same God through so many years.  ..."in the time of trouble God will uphold him. God will preserve him. My God will sustain him.  In the time of trouble my God will lift you up, so rejoice your steps are ordered of God."
